Introduction
National
Family Caregiver Support Act of 1999
Today, dutiful
children and caring spouses are providing the equivalent of $200
billion in direct care to their older or ailing relatives.
With the population
aging and a natural desire to care for relatives at home, it is
increasingly important that family caregivers receive assistance.
H.R. 1341, "The National Family Caregiver Support Act of 1999"
would provide such assistance by building on existing, successful
efforts by States and community organizations.
